My name is Alan Vallely, and I’m an educator and avid gamer. Originally from Canada, I currently live overseas in the Gulf State of Qatar, where I teach Communications at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar. I’ve been teaching for about 10 years now, split across Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Qatar. I was lucky enough to teach Video Production and (Flash) Game Design in Hong Kong at a Secondary school, and I’ve also completed a Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Design and Game Development (yes, a MASTER’s degree in Game Dev!) 🙂 So I’m no stranger to gaming, education, or gaming education!

Through my interest, studies, and educational background, I am drawn to developing games that can have a real impact on players – either as learning tools, or devices to explore more personal and intellectual concepts. Finding ways to make games that balance engaging gameplay with some opportunities to introduce new concepts/ideas is what I seek.
